I am very pleased that you have enrolled for music lessons at our studio. Music can communicate an important part of ourselves that can reach expression in no other way. In addition, numerous studies have found that children who study music improve their reading and math scores, and have more success in multiple areas of their adult lives.
What might not be so obvious, is that learning to play an instrument is relatively difficult. Students may need significant support in order to succeed. Regular practice is crucial, and having a properly operating instrument is required.
Tuition
Tuition is payable for each month on the last lesson/session of each month. At this time we accept cash, check and Visa/Mastercard (Debit or Credit).
Practicing at home.
Based on your age and progress, each student will be assigned a daily amount of practice time in order to prepare each week’s lesson.
Parental Supervision.
In order to insure your child’s success, it is crucial that you help your child manage their practice time, until it becomes a habit for them. Initiating a new commitment of time is difficult for children, and your help at the very start is important. Be sure to make practice 'fun time'.
Lesson times.
Students should arrive at the studio at least 10 minutes prior to the lesson time, so lessons can begin and end on time.
Missed or cancelled lessons.
You may (when necessary) cancel and schedule a 'make-up' lesson if we are given notice at least 24 hours before the regular lesson time. Times available for 'make-up' lessons will vary and depend on your instructors schedule. Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours notice are forfeit unless cancellation is due to sickness or family emergency. When ever possible please let us know at least 1 week in advance if you need to reschedule your regular lesson time. Please make every effort (even in the case of emergencies if possible) to call the studio at let us know you will not be at a scheduled lessons - remember, your instructor will be here waiting for you!
